Install Official Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XWLS8 on Galaxy S2 I9100
The update is still being rolled out to International Galaxy SII GT-I9100 devices. If you have not received the update yet, you will get it soon. Once the update for your country / carrier becomes available, you can download it and flash it using Odin.
Step 1: Download the firmware zip file from the links provided at the end of this post.
Step 2: Extract the downloaded firmware zip file. You will get a .tat.md5 file.
Step 3: Download Odin3_v3.04.zip, extract it and launch the exe file to start Odin.
Step 4: In Odin, click on PDA button then browse and select the firmware .tar.md5 file.
Step 5: Boot Galaxy S2 in download mode. Then connect it to the computer via USB cable.
Step 6: Now click on “Start” button in Odin.
Step 7: Wait till the process is complete.
Step 8: Once done, your phone will reboot.
That’s it. You now have Official Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Galaxy S2 I9100 smartphone. You can confirm it from Settings > About, it should be Android 4.1.2 JZO54K.I9100XWLS8 build. Enjoy!

- Take a good backup of your device’s stored data like texts, pictures, songs, videos, apps and all the other important ones
- Your device must be a rooted one CWM recovery must have to be installed in it
- Your device should be charged up to 80% to complete the installation process
- Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your smartphone.
- Go to: Menu>>Settings>>Apps>>Developer>>USB Debugging

Step 1 :
- Download Paranoid Android 4.2.2 jelly Bean custom ROM. This is the ROM which is specially designed for Galaxy S2 smartphone. If you don’t know from where to download it, you can easily get it downloaded from the below given link.
Step 2 :
- Download Google Apps. Google apps come as pre-installed apps on your Android device. After upgrading your phone with this firmware, all the installed Google apps would be removed automatically. So, you have to re install all these useful apps to your device.
Step 3 :
- Now, connect your smartphone to the PC by using a proper data cable and make sure the phone is connected with a Mass Storage option.
